This is the last month that Laura Bozeman will be running the Colours To Inspire You Challenge over at Inspiration Lane as she is taking some time out due to the impending pitter patter of tiny feet. CONGRATULATIONS LAURA!

She came up with a wonderful rainbow palette for this month and has also created a fabulous kit to download and participate in the challenge. Of course, I couldn't resist using the palette to make my own little kit but I got majorly carried away and ended up with this HUGE kit. I'm still thyinking about P365/P52 and one of the things I seem to try and scrap about are emotions but nothing too serious. Valentine's day is coming up and I got this fabulous clip art by Cheryl Seslar at Digi Web Studio and I couldn't resist using it to make a cute Valentine themed kit. But I'm not the most romantic of people so I knew there was no way I could pull a whole kit off so I decided to make it a puzzle too - well romance certainly puzzles me........lol

To be honest I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with how it turned out either, I know it's certainly not one of my best but I figure someone, somewhere may be able to use it.

Back to work

Ugggghhhhh!!! No excuse today to stay off work so it was back in to the office - happy, happy, joy, joy. I'd be lieing if I said I was thrilled at the prospect, the best that can be said is I tolerate it and never more so than today. Not one person spoke to me all day long, 7.5 Hours drags somewhat in those circumstances it must be said.

Expensive as well cos not only did I have to get a taxi there but I had to get one home as well cos we can't get the damn car out and the Public Transport is abysmal - no buses up anywhere near work today at all.

Set to be treacherous tomorrow as well, all that packed snow is going to be sheet ice tomorrow according to the forecast - goody!!!!

Let It Snow!

Saturday we got a really heavy snowfall, so much so hubby had to abandon the car 'cos it couldn't get up the hill to our house, but by lunchtime it had stopped. No further snowfall on the Sunday either so figured the main routes would be clear and we did manage to get the car back home which was a good start.

Well, it was back to work yesterday and I only just made it in on time as the roads were appalling - apparently the local Councils are now extremely low on grit with no more on order so they have cut back on which roads they treat. Still, clear day yesterday and the temperatures scraped over freezing so it wasn't too bad.

Got up this morning and it was snowing again (yayyyyyyy, I loves snow I does!) when I checked out of the window and my dad had not even attempted to move his car. I dived upstairs to check on him - 65 years old and not been feeling too well of late so my innate pessimism kicked in - and he was up and about but had decided it just wasn't worth the 30 mile journey to work, especially as the motorway was closed at the junction he gets off on. Still, think I, I'm only 5 miles from work so I'll get my normal 8am taxi and try to get in. No taxi at 8:10 so I rang them and they are going to try to get to me but they are struggling on the roads. No taxi at 8:20 so I ring work and ask what it's like there and get told it is appalling with the dual carriageway gridlocked and the road up to our building virtually unpassable.

Decide NOT to go in today.

Ring and cancel the taxi, try to get hold of my boss but he's not answering so leave a message on his voice mail.

Check online and the brat's college is closed for the day and the local bus company have cancelled all buses until they review the situation after lunch.

Looks like I definitely made the right decision in staying home.

So, only the second working day of 2010 and the weather has won out. Still snowing hard too 4 hours after I got out of my warm and cosy pit.

Resolution Time!

Okay, I'm not normally a big one for New Year's Resolutions but this year I thought I'd make some and then see how fast I can break them:

1. Get my personal store up and running before the end of June 2010.

2. Make at least one free scrap kit every month.

3. Get more involved at Inspiration Lane and try to complete at least 8 challenges every month.

4. Get organised enough that I can apply for and hopefully get onto 1 CT before Easter.

Finally a personal one:

5. Stop worrying so much about things I cannot control.

Not sure how well I'll do with these but I don't think numbers 1 - 4 are unachievable with a little application. Number 5 is lot harder to achieve, I have a little pessimistic voice that conjures up worst case scenarios at the drop of a hat.

Yes you did read right I am going to open my own little store. I've sort of hammered the pricing structure out in my head and it is going to be nice and cheap, maximum price will be $3 but most items will be $1 - $2 and I will have loads of discount bundles thrown in too. I was going to set up a new blog and do it all through the "Buy Now" feature on Paypal but then realised that I might as well make good use of my paid for webspace and set up a full store. Right now it is just a germ of an idea and I'm not so good at customising things so it will take me a goodly long while to figure it all out and then find all my kits and repack them.

Best of the Season

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year!

I've been enjoying the freedom from the pressure of having to get new product out and have basically been ignoring my PC since Hallowe'en. Well, ignoring the old PSP and PS I should say to be more accurate - I've been checking my email and wandering around various scrapping sites to see if I can find a new home. I wouldn't feel right hanging about at Scrappity Doo Dah after leaving as a designer so it's been a bit of a lean time for the old creative genes. For now I'm trying out Inspiration Lane and see how that goes - one bonus is Rachel of Steel City Scraps and Christie of Christie Lemmon Designs are both there and as I used to CT for them it helps me feel settled in, that and I discovered Jen Yurko Designs and I love her stuff.

Hopefully now we are about to enter a New Year and I've had a decent break from work I should get a little bit of my mojo back and maybe even have some new freebies for you. At the very least I should get some scrapping of my own done - I managed 5 layouts last night, admittedly I'm unhappy with the last one I did but hey ho.

Freebie - Ssshhh!

Well the clocks went back one hour this morning here in the UK and, as per usual, I am really struggling to get a handle on it all. Right now it is 6:45pm and it feels more like 9pm! I don't know why it should be that I find it so hard to adjust my body clock this way around and have no problems when they go forward one hour but that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

I'm still basking in the afterglow of finally making a decision about my design future as well - strange how hard it can be to make those decisions sometimes. I guess that knowing this is for the best has kinda helped with that one huh. Massive Retirement Sale

It's been a while

I do have a REALLY good excuse for being so quiet of late though. On the 4th October we decided to belatedly celebrate our son's 17th birthday (that was the second) and go on a family day out to Blackpool. All was going swimmingly until I had a little accident and broke my coccyx - the small bone at the very bottom of your spine. The upshot of that is that sitting down is incredibly painful - even with strong painkillers it hurts like you wouldn't believe - so computer time is strictly limited due to my innate wimpiness. I took a week off work and went back last Monday, not the wisest move really but I don't get paid for being sick and with just my income coming in I kinda need the money ya know so it's grit your teeth and get on with it time.

The big upside of it all is I've caught up on all my sleep, which is no mean feat, and I feel less stressed than I have in months. Now, my big hobby is pushing pixels about, as you know, and I've come to the very sad conclusion that my hobby is actually stressing me out more than working for a living. I put this down to my store commitments - now, SDD don't ask for much from you at all but the pressure I put myself under to get even one kit a month completed is smply ridiculous. Doesn't help anyone because it means I put out stuff that I don't necessarily feel thrilled about and that lets both me and the store down. So, I have made the momentous decision to resign (right after this post I'm going to email the site owners and ask them to close my store down on the 1st November).

My big plan is to offer most of my stuff as freebies and to eventually set up my own online store where you can pick up full kits and CU stuffies for $1 or $2. That will be a few months down the line though cos I reckon I have at least another 3 or 4 weeks of being basically offline and then I will be itching to get creative so code bashing will definitely take a back seat.

If I can bear to sit for any length of time today I'm going to do a huge Buy My Store offer at SDD for the last 2 weeks of my official designer status and it will be CHEAP - $5 for my whole store should do it I think. All my product there will then be retired until such time as I manage to get my own storefront up and running. My forum will also be closing it doors because I am not going to be running a CT anymore and the whole real point of the forum was to have somewhere we could all touch base.

Thank you ALL for your support of my journey from scrapper to freebie designer to store designer and back again over the past 12 months. I appreciate each and every comment I receive and I'm really uber-excited about moving forward in this way - back to my roots, feels soooooo liberating!

I would also like to apologise to all those stores I used to spend sooo much money in because I will be on a much tighter budget every month now (still to be hashed out with hubby) because I won't have my own earnings to chip into the pot for new goodies.

Whilst I'm doing my Oscar speech I want to raise a huge cheer to Scrappin' Cop and Delicious Scraps for ALL you do for this community. You inspire me so much! I also want to thank Yvonne, Tam, Chris and the whole team at SDD for giving me a chance and I'm wholeheartedly sorry to let you down in this way.

Holiday Fall Out

Well, I've been back home a week now and been feeling quite sick so everything has gone by the board and all I've done is sleep for a week.

I haven't forgotten about my CT call and I will be contacting everyone who applied before next weekend. It would have been this weekend but I just haven't had the opportunity to gallery browse.

On a much brighter note we had a simply wonderful time in Blackpool. We settled into a really relaxed routine of up bright and early, walk down the prom before breakfast and then go out about 9:30am then we'd either be out all morning, come back to the hotel for a nap in the afternoon and then go back out in the early evening before crashing into bed by 11pm or staying out all day and then spending the evening in our room. Absolute BLISS and I really remembered why Mark is my soulmate. I wish it never had to end, I really do.

Going On My Hollibobs

Yup, that's right after never really taken a holiday together as man and wife in almost 19 years of marriage we are taking the great time we had on our weekend away and extending it by a few days. We leave today and will get home sometime on Saturday 19th September 2009. Not exactly sure when yet cos it depends on how well the previous days go I guess and what the weather's like - so far September has been really cold and wet so I'm not expecting great things.

We have booked a deluxe room at The Big Blue Hotel for the duration and we already know tey are really comfy and have everything you need - apart, strangely, from a chest of drawer to put your smalls in so you have to keep them all tidied away in your suitcase. Bit of a pain but I figure if that's all you've got to complain about then you aren't doing so bad. There Cherry Cheesecake is simply DIVINE so I fully intend to have at least a couple of thoise over the next few days. Doubt we'll be eating in their restaurant too often cos it is really rich food, with a price tag to match and there are tons of options - including munching on Fish and Chips whilst strolling along the prom.

There are a few thingsI intend to do whilst we are in Blackpool and the weather will have to be really terrible to stop me!

Spend a day on Blackpool Pleasure Beach - we spent most of the July weekend there and I definitely want to go back as it is one of my favourite places in the whole world.
Take tram through the Blackpool Illuminations, it's been a good 10 years since we went through them and I just love the lights. Actually I kinda hope it's raining for this one cos I love the way the colours smear in the rain.
Go to a show one night, not sure what yet but there was one that took my eye on at The Globe called forbidden which looks to be kind of a Cirque de Soleil meets Queen The Musical. Time will tell on that one tough.
Take a day trip out to either neighbouring Fleetwood or Cleveleys - kinda sleepy places but you have to spread your horizons a little bit.

One thing we most likely won't be doing is going clubbing it. Blackpool has a really good nightlife but it must be said I reckon we are both past that stage of our lives. Although at least one night will be spent by the other half in The Star watching the Liverpool Champions League match.

Got to love being able to post-date blog posts, I've got everything set up to post automatically so you aren't going to miss any of my great deals this week and I'm really pleased with my creations for this week.

I will be around and about online - chiefly first thing in the morning and late at night when I check in from the hotel wifi on the notebook. So if you need me just drop me an email (the address is to the left) and it might take me a while but I will get back to you.

My Big Adventure - Update!

It's been a couple of weeks since we launched the My Big Adventure Charity Collaboration Kit in aid of Autism research so I thought I'd check in with Miss Tiina and see who we are doing and the news is great.

4-Shared, glad news and sad news

Just a quicky post cos I'm busy working on a new kit (no stopping me at the moment is there!) but I needed to get this out there.

4-Shared is down at the moment and the internet rumour (I can't substantiate it myself so have no choice but to call rumour) is that the site has been hacked and that is why it is offline. ALL of my freebies are available with alternate download links from my Product Gallery (linky to the left). So, if you are browsing through my blog and see a freebie you like don't try to download it through the link head on over to my Product Gallery and use the download link provided there.

Now onto the rather sad news. It looks like one of our new kittens is going to be blind in one eye. He got one eye fully open but the other one was showing no signs of opening up at all. When I picked him up yesterday I noticed little beads along the eyelid so the other half bathed his eye and a huge blob of pus rolled out. He's fine in himself and is still putting weight on and is very interested in feeding but it must be so painful for the little guy. We will have to keep a close watch on him and bathe that eye at least twice a day to try and kill off all the infection. Poor little soul.

Even worse news is that Olga got knocked over yesterday and died. There is a Nursing Home backs onto our house and one of the nurses from there let us know what had happened and I ent round with her to see if it was one of our cats; sadly it was. My one consolation is that the last couple of weeks have been really happy for her cos she was back home again. She will definitely be missed that's for sure.

On a brighter note, hubby finally agrees with me that Killer is pregnant. I know, I know we have so many cats already and we should have had her spayed but time ran away with us. Good job we are cat nuts in this house is all I can say and I'm really looking forward to my baby girl (yes, she's definitely MY cat) having babas of her own.

It features our lovely Olga who is ever so slightly mad. We thought we'd lost her because she disappeared for 6 weeks and turned up on Friday lunchtime skinny as all get out and screaming to be fed. Makes me wonder how long she'll stay this time around - this is the second time she's done a bunk on us.

Here we go again.............I am now the proud people mummy to another 4 kittens!

Teeny Tiny (who is singularily misnamed because she has really shot up from being our smallest cat 3 months ago to being our largest female - in fact if you take the fluff away it's touch and go who is larger her or her brother Gooey) gave birth to 4 rather large kittens yesterday morning whilst I was at work - talk about spoiling my fun!

So our full kitty roll call is:

Pug - 11 years old in December and daughter of Toomsy who is no longer with us
Bow - 9 years old in October and son of Pug and putative father to Brain's kittens(he is adamant that all 8 are his and clucks over them but I am not convinced - they are cute for one thing!)

Gooey (Mr Magoo to be proper) - 1 Year Old on August 9th son of Brain
Killer - 1 Year Old on August 9th, daughter of Brain
Mad Olga - 1 Year Old on August 9th, daughter of Brain

Twoey (Goo Two) - Born 20th June 2009, son of Brain
Nadia - Born 20th June, daughter of Brain

Then Teeny Tiny's 4 offspring born 2nd September 2009 - I *think* they are 2 boys and 2 girls but it is really hard to be sure when they are so young. Hope the black and one is a boy (and I 90% sure he is) because is so being called Harvey thanks to the white stripe down one side of his face - yes, yes, too much Dark Knight........lol

One thing the vet is going to love us in the next few months cos there's some amount of spaying to be done!

What a lot's been going on

Well, ever since I went on holiday in July I've been really struggling to get back into the swing of things online. No real idea why that should be but it has and I've spent acres of time sprawled on the couch either watching movies or reading and just generally vegging out. Hubby certainly hasn't been complaining about it cos he's actually had his missus to himself for the past month and more. Well, up until last weekend when I really stepped up and started creating again.

How long that is going to last I have no idea cos we are going back to the same hotel for 4 nights on the 15th September and although the weather will probably be pants I am really looking forward to it. I got sunburnt on our weekend away and I know I won't be that lucky again - after all we all like some good weather when we are on our hollibobs don't we.

The bratling took his GCSEs this year (boy does that make me feel old!) and got his results on Thursday - 1 A, 3 Bs, 3 Cs, 2 Ds and 1 E. I'm really proud of him getting a C in his English Language he's hated his English classes and was set for an E at best at the beginning of the year so he has worked his butt off to bring that up to a C. He only needed 4 Cs to get onto his Performing Arts course so he blew that out of the water and he starts on Wednesday.

Of course, this led to us spending money cos we'd promised him the Arkham Asylum game if he did well enough to get into college. Don't tell him but he would have got the game anyway.........lol.

I'm still working at the same place and still not properly settled in - I don't think I ever will somehow. Still, keeps me in an internet connection don't it.

Three day weekend here in Blighty and I'm intending to take today off and just doss about the house and then do some major PS bashing on Sunday and Monday. Yup, that's the good news I'm getting to grips with PS FINALLY! I'm making most of my kits in there but there are some things that I will always revert to PSP for simply because it is so much easier for me in that program than in Adobe's offering. Not regretting spending all that money though, it was worth it for the flexibility of layer styles and massive brush sizes if you ask me - which you didn't but hey ho.

September is going to be a massive month for me. Every Thursday I am going to be releasing 2 new mini mits, 1 commercial use overlay pack and o1 commercial use template pack as part of the $1 tweets; SDD are having their Birds Of A Feather prmotion again so I've a paper pack, elements pack and alpha pack coming out for that and on top of all that I have some commercial use glitter styles and at least two huge kits coming out so it's going to be a busy month for me - especially with the holiday thrown in. Might even have a stand alone alpha or two and some themed template packs as well, if time lets me. Nothing like challenging yourself huh!

So Excited

I'm like a little kid at the moment and all because my other half has booked us a weekend away. On Friday I go straight from work to the train station and jump on a train to Blackpool and we don't get home again until Sunday. I simply can't wait, we haven't had a break for 9 years so I can't wait for this one.

Here's where we will be staying and it looks really luxurious - better had be cos it is more than I wanted to spend but I was overruled. Not that I took much convincing....lol.

The kittens are now 3.5 weeks old and already they can climb out of their box - we had to move them from the basket because poor mum couldn't lie down with them so we got a huge box for them. They are soooo cute, I will post photos soon then I cna show off - they are now on the PC so I just need to resize them a little then I'm going to bore you to death with them. Had a little scare yesterday cos mum sat on one of the kittens and it had what appeared to be a little fit but she seems fine today and is as alert as the others and is wandering about in the box and climbed out earlier so no lasting damage done - thank goodness!

I've even managed to squeeze loads of designing time in and I have some new products and, even better, some new freebies, due out over the next couple of weeks so keep checking back for the latest news. The release schedule kicks off tomorrow and lasts for 2 full weeks with Commercial Use items, Alphas, Templates and even 3 new kits including 2 awesome collabs that I am unbelievably excited about.

Not So Good

Well it's not been a great weekend here. I got a stomach bug from somewhere and spent most of the weekend feeling really sorry for myself and sleeping an awful lot - not to mention the sweating....whooo boy the sweating!

I'm going to give work a go today and see how it goes, short staffed and hot weather so I can't for shame take the day off, even though my body is crying out for me to do so and go back to bed and sleep. Guess the next couple of days are going to be tough to get through but slow and steady wins the race after all so I'll get there eventually.

Holy Moly

Jinkies but it has taken an awfully long time to roll around to Friday night, felt more like a month than a week that's for sure! Doesn't help with how hot it is has been here in Northern England - I daresay that this would be nothing to many of you but it rarely crawls much above 22°C here so when it does we suffer. I swear I thought I was going to melt this afternoon!

Well I left work on such a low note last week I am relieved to report that it hasn't lasted. I'm pretty sure they still have plenty of gripes and moans but I have been spared them this week. Good job too cos it did ruin my entire weekend last week.

Still haven't transferred the piccies of our new fuzzles off the camera. They are going from strength to strength and despite being right in the middle of flea season we have only found 1 so far in the enst, which is no mean feat when you have 8 other cats playing outside and mating about with other moggies. Still going through the daily ritual of changing the bedding though - better safe than sorry and I am not up for losing any of them to flea anaemia, been there and lost one and I'm not repeating that mistake.

Got a busy weekend driving a computer planned, despite the heat. A gal's gotta create after all!

New Life

I am pleased to announce that we now have 4 new furbabies.

Brain decided that yesterday was the most propitious time to start giving birth and after hauling her and the firstborn out from under the couch (no mean feat it's a metal framed twin recliner) she went on the have a grand total of 4 and they are just sooooooooooooo cute.

Hopefully I will remember later today to transfer the handful of pics hubby took over onto the PC then I can share them.

Shows What I Know!

There's me yesterday saying that I felt it was all going swimmingly in my new job and then I get the carpet ripped out from under my feet.

Apparently all is not as rosy as I thought - or as my Line manager had led me to believe and I am not a very happy camper right now.

Yes I know I'm loud but I did warn you about that before you even employed me, I did say one of my worst qualities was the sheer volume of my voice so don't come moaning at me now that you feel I need to quieten down. Honest to goodness, it really annoys me - I am loud I KNOW THIS, I am almost 40 years old do you really think that's gonna change at this late stage? Okay, I take on board your comments about the odd lapse into the vernacular when speaking to engineers and I will try to change that but it's been so long since I've had to watch my p's and q's that it feels really phony.

What was even worse though was being told I'd made loads of mistakes that could cost the company money. Yes, I understand that isn't desirable and I know we're not perfect but my ego still took a major battering over it. What makes it worse in my eyes is that I was only doing what I had been told to do when I first started and then it turns out that is wrong when I do it but it seems to be acceptable when other people do it. Very, very frustrating - at least I put my point across that I had not been told that one certain scenario was to be handled differently for different customers even when under similar contracts. I'm good at what I do and I know this to be true so when I screw up through no actual fault of my own except a lack of relevant information it really hurts me - yep I do take it that personally.

So, the last 6 weeks have been for nothing it seems and I am back at square one with no clear idea of what the hell I am supposed to be doing and I hate that. I'm not even sure what is expected of me and if it is even worth trying to change myself to fit in with their ideas; I came away with the strong feeling that I am a complete disappointment to them and not what they thought they were getting on one hand and then on another that I was achieving more than they had expected me too. Majorly frustrated right now and I am pretty sure this is going to cast a pall over my entire weekend and I am certainly not looking forward to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or even Friday!

Okay, I know.........major pity party for one and all that but soem things just have to be verbalised before you can get past them and feeling inadequate is one of those when you are as big a control freak as I am.

It's all been a bit formal

I know, I know my blog has been strictly business, business, business over the last few weeks and I've hardly updated any personal stuffies at all. My apologies for that but my head has been firmly up my arse and I've been concentrating on work - either the "for the man" variety or the fun "for me" variety.

Well, I seem to be settling in quite nicely into my new job. Not exactly making friends in the workplace but then I honestly didn't expect to - I'm great at keeping myself to myself and my workload is massive so I don't exactly have time for chatting. Couple that with everyone in the office I'm in has been there forever and it is kinda hard to break into the clique. I know that comes off like I'm moaning but I'm not. I am never one for work's functions so it works to my benefit - I can go in, get cracking on what I have to do and get through as much as possible before leaving on the dot of 5. Heck it works for me!

Courtesy of the new job I actually got to do some online shopping this week and got some new clothes - not work clothes but weekend clothes and I badly needed them. I even got my first couple of pairs of jeans since I was 18 and they FIT......no mean feat when you are carrying as much extra poundage as I am. I even treated myself to a posh frock.........this summer the hubby and I are determined to get a couple of weekends away and I need a nice dress for going to a restaurant at night (and the jeans for theme park rides in the day - big kid that I am!).

On the domestic front we are impatiently waiting for new furbabies. Brain is due to drop any time soon..............well in the next 2 weeks at any rate...............and I am really looking forward to it. Her last litter are 10 months old now and are smashing little cats so we have high hopes for this batch. Even if she has taken to killing small rodents and bringing them home.

My designing has taken a bit of a back seat of late and I've been scrapping a few layouts instead, well there are the SDD challenges to do ;0) Hopefully inspiration will strike soon and I can get one of these ideas out of my notebook and into digital format. I have so much planned for the 6 weeks or so - 3 collabs, a blog train and a new solo kit. One thing I'm going to be BUSY.........lol

New Month, New Challenges

Well, here we are June already, honestly it doesn't feel like 2 minutes since it was Christmas!

A new month means new challenges at Scrappity Doo Dah and this month there are masses of new ones to take part in. Check them out HERE.

So, it's been a while

Yes, yes I know I've been really quiet this last week. There's just been so much going on and I have been suffering from complete lack of inspiration so my time has been spent mostly aimlessly surfing about the scrapping world and bugging the life out of people on the SDD forums.

We had to have our dog put down on May 20th and I still can't get used to him not being around. It's quite surprised me really because I am not a dog person and we sort of tolerated each other, but I guess if you have spent 12 years with each other then some sort of affection grows between you. Gizmo was a third time rescue when he came to us and we reckon he must have been about 16 years old so he wasn't a young dog and it was his age that caught up with him in the end. It was so sad to see him barely able to walk and completely disinterested in the world around him because he always was such a nosy dog and wanted to know everything that was happening. The cats still have't adjusted either because all bar 2 of them had known him all their lives.

I'm finally settling into my job, it's taken a while but I think I'm going to enjoy it. I was sufering from major reservations about it until last week when it all started to click into place. How I'll feel about it come the end of this week I'm not too sure because we suddenly have summery weather here in Blighty and that means we will be extremely busy.

On the designing front I am now the proud owner of Photoshop CS4 *bounces*. The box was delivered by Amazon yesterday and is currently perched on my right imploring me to get it installed. I have a ton of deadlines to meet so until those are out of the way I am refusing to install it because I will get suckd into playing with that instead of working on my designs. I have to admit I am super excited and super greatful to my dad who bought it for me.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and getting out in the sun some! I was working yesterday so I only have a one day weekend this time around and today I am going to be glued to the PC catching up on what should have been ready on Friday!

Tiny Hiccup

My store at Scrappity Doo Dah is not going to be opened today.

The QC on my submissions isn't finished yet and rather than rush we've decided to put the opening back to late this week/early next week. I have to admit I feel more comfortable with that deadline because if they do pick up something I missed then I'm not going to be fighting the clock to rectify it. Plus it gives me more time to get to grips with X-Cart - never used it so that should be a learning curve!

So sit back, relax and wait a few more days for the grand Opening. I'm so excited about this opportunity that the time is sure to pass in the blink of an eye!

I Am Proud To Announce

Well, I can now let everyone know what I've been babbling on about for the past few days. I applied to an open Designer Call at Scrappity Doo Dah and the wonderful ladies there have snapped me up. I have made the decision to go exclusive and I am really, really excited about this opportunity.

I haven't been very active over there yet because I've been a busy little bee trying to get all my ducks in a row with my kits and getting them submitted for QC. There's quite a lot to go through so I don;t have a definite date for my store grand opening as yet but as soon as I do I intend to celebrate in grand style with my wonderful blog readers. I fully intend to have an opening sale and there may even be a special something for all of you who have stuck by me and been following my progress in scrapping and design.

I must say the initial impressions I had of Scrappity-Doo-Dah from my visit there before I applied to the designer call are that it is warm and friendly. In other words exactly what I am looking for in a new digiscrapping home. After all it is the members that make any site great and this one looks like it is going to be a real gem. I'm not just saying that cos they said they'd have me either; I'm saying that because it is why I applied!

So, there you go, I am now proud to be a Scrappity Doo Dah Chickadee!

Even better I have just signed an exclusive deal with a scrapping store so I did find a new home after all. I'm going to be mean though and not tell you where or when until the day before I officially open my doors. I'm not even going to link to it anywhere on this blog until then so ner ner ner I'm gonna tease you.

The good news is, you aren't going to have to wait very long before I let you in on the secret.

I'm going to be relatively quiet whilst I get all my ducks in a row and start setting things up so don't think I've slid off the face of the earth I'm just busy, busy behind the scenes and keeping my trap shut for once - which is undoubtedly a relief for some of you!

You may find that almost all of the downloads do not work, in matter of fact the only one that is active is the All Together mini kit.

There is reason in my madness, I promise.

then you will find the freebies category split into Commercial Use, Personal Use and Scrap 4 Hire/Others and everything has been portioned up in there. Right now it is all mixed up with early items jostling ahead of newer items, this is because the gallery is set to sort in date order and they were all uploaded last night. I would recommend having a good old poke through each category and grabbing the later items, the quality and execution is better than the older ones.

From now on freebies will be relased on the blog with 4shared download links for one week, they will then be moved into the Product Gallery Freebies section.

First of all THANK YOU to everyone who has emailed me or posted here with their support, I am really touched by this outpouring of support and will never forget it. It has made me even more determined to carry on!

You may have noticed a couple of new links appearing over on the right hand side and that's because I am busy working on getting my ducks in a row and making sure that should this happen again it's not going to cause me too much pain.

So I now have a personal gallery up - I still need to do some work on the template but 4images was giving me a little bit of trouble with the template and I decided to leave it as it is for now. It's not too bad but it can be improved upon that's for sure. I also have a product gallery up but haven't done anything with that template yet so please excuse the grey, it will be changed later today.

All of my freebies will be placed on this blog but also in the Product Gallery so it should be easier to find them if you want them - that's the theory anyway.

By the end of the month I am also hoping to have my own store up and running, need to decide which cart to go with as my host gives me 3 options and there are other's out there. Once the decision is made I will then need to repackage everything and start the uploads. Hopefully by the 1st July it will be up ad running.

I have applied to a couple of designer calls and Laura kindly gave me a lead to persue so next week I will follow that up. A few stores have come forward at DC and offered a new home to Designers and Members and I would like to thank them all for showing us that we are welcome elsewhere in the community.

I have decided that I will be making my new forum home Enchanted Studio Scraps. Regular followers will know that Enchanted studio Scraps opened it's doors at the beginning of the year as a response to initial feared closure of Digital Candy. It is a great site with many designers I admire and I knwo they are a great bunch of ladies - I just didn't have time to be active in more than one forum and placed my allegiance with Digital Candy - what a fool I was!

Stress, Drama and all that good stuff

It never rains but it pours does it. I got home tonight and finally dragged myself online only to find that Digital Candy is closing it doors. I've already said my piece about this at DSA so I'm not going to re-iterate it here; suffice it to say I am downright angry this time around.

A knock on effect of this is that many of the download links I have posted for you on this blog are not going to work because either the file hosting will no longer exist or the kit is no longer available. I am going to work on it this weekend and hopefully you aren't going to notice anything amiss. I have a tendency to miss things though so if you notice a duff link please let me know and I will get it fixed and come back to you.

I am now no longer a designer as that store will close too. This evening I have deleted all my items off The Sweet Tarts Shoppe server, if you were hoping to purchase a kit before the closing date of the 15th May then please email me (artisticleanings at btinternet.com) and I will work something out with you.

I have applied to a couple of stores but have ZERO hope of being accepted. I'm triply tainted here - I'm still learning all the ins and outs so I'm not experienced, I have no selling history and DC seems to have daubed a black mark on our foreheads, for whatever reason, in the eyes of certain sections of the scrapping community. I don't rightly care if their opinions are right, wrong or plain ill informed because everyone is entitled to their own opinion so I would like to urge you not to turn this post into some sort of smack on the issue - if I wanted to do that believe you me I'd start it off myself ;) Anyway, there's already at least one blog having a feeding frenzy on this and related issues and it is far more fun than here - if you enjoy that kind of thing at any rate....lol

Apologies to everyone who generously applied to be on my CT. I will be replying to your emails tomorrow - I should be in bed sleeping now as it is nearly 1am and I'm up at 6:30am for work but I am just too narked to sleep.

I'm definitely getting old - my son has his Senior Prom this year which means a tuxedo and deciding which girl he wants to take - the tuxedo he's looking forward to the decision less so. I think he'd rather go on his own and dance with ALL the girls than restrict himself to his official date. When I got the chance to create with this palette on the theme of "A Night In The Spotlight" I just knew I had to go with a prom night theme.
